This is where you can find information about class news and what we will be learning!
HAPPY MAY!! We are kicking off May with May Madness this Friday!! The students are so excited and are going to have so much fun! In the last 4 weeks we will be learning new curriculum, finishing projects and having so much fun in the process!
School supplies will be available to order for next year on the HUB until JUNE 3RD! This is a great way to save time for close to the same cost on supplies!

Our 1st bell rings at 7:40 AM. The 2nd bell rings at 7:45 AM and morning assembly begins. Please be sure your child is on time to school to avoid a tardy.
~It tends to get a little cold in our room when the air conditioner kicks on. Please send your child with a jacket or sweater if they need one.
~Please let me know ahead of time, if possible, when your child is going to be absent.
~My conference period is on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays at 12:40-1:20.
F.I.T. (Focused Instructional Time)
FIT groups will be staying in our homeroom. We will be doing guided reading groups and daily 5 during FIT.
What we will be learning in the classroom:
Language Arts: We will be focusing on writing a summary in guided reading. You can practice at home also, please encourage your child to use character names and only the most important details in the summary, and be sure to include the problem/resolution :)! We will also be learning apostrophes!
Math: We are beginning our new geometry unit this week!
Writing: We will continue writing in our writing journals daily and writing a non fiction piece! We will be working on correct grammar and writing complete stories with a beginning, middle and end. We are also starting to write our persuasive writing pieces.
Science: We will begin our unit with life cycles and observing our butterflies, meal worms and plants grow!
Social Studies: Social Studies Weekly
We will have a quiz every Friday over the content and vocabulary learned. Students are able to use the Social Studies Weekly magazine to help them recall information.
